Background: Aarogyasri Scheme is a unique Government-sponsored Community Health Insurance Scheme being implemented by the Government of Telangana. The scheme is the flagship of all health initiatives of the State Government with a mission to provide quality healthcare to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) population.
Old city of Hyderabad population is majorly the habitants of Muslim community, as most of them are self employed citizens. As most of them are from BPL population, their living conditions are very conducive and few are in a pathetic condition, for any health emergency they have to visit the corporate hospitals, which is very burdensome in surgery cases as they are financially not so sound.
