State of the art clinical microbiology with latest technology equipment and qualified manpower to meet with the clinicians needs for accurate and timely confirmation of presumptive clinical diagnosis. The department was established in the year 1984-1985.The journey subsequently has strived to balance an efficient output with advancing technology. The collective efforts of the department’s faculties are imparting the best knowledge to the students. We are the first among all the private medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh /Telangana.
The department is equipped with automated machines BACTEC for blood culture; MGIT for Tuberculosis. In the year 2020 NABL accredited molecular lab was established to tackle the Pandemic of COVID 19. The lab is equipped with fully automated Nucleic acid extraction machines and RTPCR apart from COVID 19 test it can also detect Hepatitis viruses; Herpes virus and Papilloma viruses which cause dreaded diseases , such as liver cancer, genital cancers etc. The microbiology department lab also run services under National programs like DOTS , HIV, Molecular diagnosis of TB by CBNAAT.
