Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (DVL), one of the important clinical speciality departments offering patient care. It is headed by Professor Dr. Nayeem Sadath Haneef. DVL Dept. has highly qualified, experienced and renowned faculty members providing clinical services in the form of outpatient care, inpatient care and procedural services for all types of skin, hair and nail diseases. Dept. of DVL receives one of the highest numbers of outpatients and inpatients in the Owaisi hospital.
DVL unit at OHRC has earned a special reputation in the state as a competent intensive and critical care set up for treating patients with life threatening skin diseases, drawing referrals from senior practitioners, corporate hospitals and various other medical college hospitals.
The department offers advanced Biologic treatments such as Rituximab Secukinumab for threatening diseases like Pemphigus and Psoriasis, Dept. of DVL is also well equipped with cosmetic and dermato-surgical equipment. It provides all types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including skin biopsy, patch testing, Wood’s lamp, LASER hair reduction, Qs-NdYAG LASER- pigment and tattoo removal, CO2 LASER, Ellmannradiofrequeny, electrocautery, cryosurgery, whole body / hand-foot phototherapy (both NBUVB & PUVA), microdermabrasion, dermaroller, chemical peels, pigmentation treatment, comedone extraction, acne surgery, vitiligo surgery, nail surgery, mole removal, wart removal, keloid treatment, hair growth treatment with PRP (platelet rich plasma), intralesional therapies, iontophoresis, chemical cautery etc.
The Department offers undergraduate education for students of MBBS. It offers postgraduate MD Degree course in DVL (recognized by NMC / MCI), Dept. has set high standards in UG and PG academics, with its students winning prizes at national and state level. Faculty of DVL Dept., lead by Professor & HOD, Dr. Nayeem Sadath Haneef is well renowned across the state and the country, and are part of CMEs, conferences and workshops as faculty have published a number of research publications in reputed journals and contributed chapters to national reference textbooks of DVL. Faculty have also won prestigious awards and have strong presence in associations, journals and scientific committees of various conferences
